CRAZY SUMMER DAYS

Yesterday I was reading the blog of freelance journalist/ author
Alyson Walsh.
She was talking about her trip to the Tate Modern to see the work of artist and fashion designer Sonia Delaunay at the Tate Modern.
SONIA DELAUNAY ART

I had a light bulb moment when I realised thats where the inspiration must have come from for the Boden turn up pants I'm teaming with my vintage jacket.
I love the crazy pattern design and colours

We are so lucky that we will just get to see the exhibition before it finishes on the 9th August. Yes I will be wearing my crazy gear, teamed up with a lace blouse I bought for £3 at Victoria Bath Vintage Fashion recently.

How about wearing these on the beach this year

Fabulous fabric necklaces

Hello from our craft group.

Here's what members made this month
Beautiful fabric necklace
Julie Waters one of our multi talented ladies led the workshop
The base is felt
Once the embellishments are stitched on ribbon
is attached to fasten it at the back
For stability and to help the necklace lay flat cardboard can be used for the inside layer and then backed with another piece of felt or coordinating fabric.  You could also try using Velcro/press stud or a button as a fastener if you don't want a ribbon bow at the back

Whats on my workdesk today

There is nothing on my workdesk as I have been to busy partying
and being a fashionista
No make up on but trying my VE Day outfit ready for Sunday's outing to Vintage Village at Stockport.
Last Saturday we attended a fashion show "Fashion through the Decades" at The Vintage Emporium, Pear Mill, Stockport.
This little pink bag came from Victoria Baths Vintage Fashion event at the princely sum of £3. The gold glittery cardi and pink glittery top were £10 each
I am planning to make a sketchbook of photographs and record all my bargain buys as there is usually a good story behind each purchase.
This is a picture of my nana, auntie and nana's friend from the late 60's, incredibly I have the same style outfits in my wardrobe now.  Would'nt it have been nice to have the originals.  Nana has on a floral wiggle dress but the only wiggling she would have done would have been down to the bingo.

Tonight, along with my friend Susan, I'm doing a talk at a local church Women's League group and we will be doing some crafting as well, so I better go and get my gear together.
Have a good week and don't forget to pop over to see what others have been upto at their desks

Where has the time gone ?
Now that spring is here and the leaves are growing on the trees
And the flowers starting to bloom
I've been busy entertaining blog and facebook friends
Twinkle Toes - Mo Allan and grandson Logan
Redanne - Anne Redfern
Helencrochet1 - Helen Whitcombe
www.melhearn.com - Mel Hearn
Talented craft friends Julie Waters and Susan Woosey
I've been catching up in the office.
shopping and
falling way behind with my Papercrafting course
The sunshine puts paid to blogging when its to nice to be inside.
Lets see if anyone else has managed to do any crafting or if they have all been sunbathing.
