What's on my workdesk today ....

Firstly thank you everyone for the kind messages after last week's burglary.
Now moving swiftly on and not dwelling on it.

Well that's the last of my craft workshops over for this year
and after a massive clear up over the next few weeks
so that it looks more like this
(you currently can't see the floor or radiator for piled up stuff)
it will be time to get my thinking cap on for the 2016 ones.
I have had a request to run the Framed Paper Wreath one again, so that's one sorted.
Time for a cuppa and a look round for some inspiration from my fellow desk hoppers over at Julia's Blog now.

WHAT'S ON MY WORKDESK TODAY

Here's some of the pics from last Saturday's Beginners Craft Workshop.
You may remember my ladies were using safety pins and beads to make these lovely bracelets.
We even found time to make a pair of earrings and a little brooch.

I've also been to a fabulous concert at Bury Met.
Those who read books may know the author Mark Billingham. Well he got together with the husband and wife band My Darling Clementine and together they told a story of murder and mystery.
On Sunday we slipped over to Leeds Town Hall for Lou Lou's Vintage Fair.
As well as a gorgeous tea party we were entertained by these dancing ladies and some wonderful music.
I picked up these wool 1960's trousers for £15.

Now back to business and thinking about what to do for my Christmas workshops.  First up though a peep at a few desks over at Julia's place.

THANKS TO ALL THOSE THAT POPPED BY LAST WEEK
HAPPY CREATING

Will it work out or won't it ........

My Beginners Craft Workshop is looming ever nearer
and I certainly tested myself on this one.
I am not good at calculating "how many" or "how long".
I have probably over ordered as usual
Fingers crossed it works out
Here's Harvey the rescued bear modelling what the ladies will be making.
Wish me luck !

Papercrafting on a Saturday

Here's the results of Saturday's Beginners Craft Workshop and what lovely results we got.
Anne used three different papers, a double sided Emma Bridgewater design, a handmade paper and part of a Kandinsky design

Diana used this double sided postage stamp design which matches a cushion she has in her front room
Susan, a keen knitter knew she wanted a piece that would reflect her love of knitting, so she made the little centre piece beforehand.

Rose used lovely combinations of music sheets, tartan and spots for hers and cleverly cut out a paper flower for the crotchet centre to sit on.
Charlotte chose a bird theme.  This is a lovely doublesided design I picked up at YEW TREE BARN, near Grange Over Sands, where we have a caravan.

We had a really nice day and my good friend Susan came and made the tea for us.  I wonder what the ladies on the last of my workshops on this project will come up with next Saturday.

AT LAST..........

Saturday saw the first of my Beginners Craft Workshops for 2015
It was lovely to welcome back ladies from last year
and to meet some new people too.
We kicked off with Papercrafting
I have a great stash of double sided papers that
I've collected from different places around the country.
These 15"x15" fabulous box frames came from The Range
for £13 and come with a padded fabric interior and pearl top
pins to secure the piece in with.

If you order them online they come in a box so they make ideal presents.
The scope of use for these frames I feel is endless.

There are another two workshops to run on this theme
and I can't wait to see what my other ladies come up with.
