A week more normal than it’s been for a long time - woyww 666

There’s been a fair bit of conscious creativity this last week.
On Friday I went on a workshop.  Yes actually attended one
with a friend, and we had a lovely time.

We did some drawing exercises then took them into
stitch.

Then some mark making exercises

Then some story telling doodling and stitching.
No they are not finished and knowing me it will
be a miracle if they do get finished.

Anyway, I’m off on one now.  I’ve got it in my head that
I want to do a range of textile samples in greys and creams.

I’ve stripped the cork wall in my workroom of all the
Shibori Blue pieces, ready for what’s to come next.

We’ve got a new prompt coming up on Saturday with my
No Rules Textile Society, I’m hoping to be able to incorporate
my new ideas into whatever it is.

Just time to add a book I’ve finished and a film I’ve been to
see at the cinema. My first visit in a long long time.

Definitely worth going to see.  A true story from the 60’s.
Im back using my Meerkat two for one vouchers as well.
Next week we are going to see Belfast.

  1. We enjoyed The Duke very much too and, having lived in the North East for many years can confirm they got the accents and humour absolutely spot on! Love all the scribble style artwork very much and the shibori blues are going to look fab in your workroom. Gorgeous stuff!

  2. I always love seeing all the bits you’ve been busy with and today is no exception. Jo has been here for a quick coffee this morning and we were thinking of you....I’ve been given bags full of fabrics, lace, ribbons, trimmings etc etc and we were imagining what you would do with it all....just wish you lived closer.

  7. Ooh I'm excited to see what direction you will be taking next - grey and cream is definitely a favourite of mine - I love neutrals and gravitate to them automatically even when planning on working in colour! I have that Conscious Creativity book you are holding - it's gorgeous isn't it. I'm definitely planning on seeing The Duke - I do love Jim Broadbent. Glad you enjoyed your workshop - lovely to get a little bit more normality in our lives at last.
    Have a great week,

I do love you in red, it really suits you and seeing your creations fill me with admiration, my ability to make things seems to have vanished in recent months! xxx

  10. You're such a creative busy-bee, aren't you Lynn. I'm making a mental note to bring the textile art book I found in a chazza and bought for you over 2 years ago! I'm loving the sound of The Duke, although I'm not sure I can bear going to the cinema yet. xxx

  14. You are on one! what are you going to do with all the blues you’ve taken down from here cork board? I live in fear for them! Im very happy to hear that you don’t expect to finish your workshop pieces, I’m the same and always thought it was just me that didn’t rush home and finish, then repeat! I like that the doodle birds are still in your head too, made me smile!

  16. Your textiles are so inspiring and I love the monochrome experiments. It has been forever since I went to an actual cinema. I rather liked movies premiering in Netflix and the like, and even being able to see some NT plays from home was about the only bright spot in the pandemic lockdown. Both versions of Frankenstein, with Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller alternating as the Dr. and the Monster, were outstanding and Gillian Anderson as Blanche in Streetcar was fab too! I wish that had carried on. Sorry I am criminally late for WOYWW this week :(
