Last week I picked these little white deep frames up from the animal charity stall on the
market. Once back home I whipped out the glass and made them into little dioramas using
things I’d made and things I’ve collected.
You know those times when you wish you’d kept a piece of clothing. Well I had
one of those moments this week when images of this jacket I’d customised popped up
on Facebook memories. It was part of a two piece cotton linen trouser suit I had.
I can’t even remember why I parted with it. Let’s hope someone is still wearing it.
Maybe I’ll have a root round my Narnia wardrobe and see if there’s something else
I could embellish.
By now I should be off on the road upto our caravan in the Lake District for
the first time this year. We will be meeting up with friends we’ve not seen for ages,
visiting our favourite places and hopefully the weather will be kind to us.
I’m sorry I won’t be able to get round your desks.
Have a great week everyone.
Take care
Lynn

I adore those dioramas. I just wish they would enlarge. You did a fabulous job filling the frames. Too bad you got rid of that jacket.
ReplyDeleteHave fun on your trip and at your caravan. It will feel good to see old friends again, I'm sure. Happy WOYWW from # 3.
Love that embellished jacket, the details are fab! Have a fun time at the caravan.

What a shame you parted with that beautifully embellished jacket - you made it looks so special! I love your little dioramas - such a great use of the little frames. Enjoy your break. xx Jo

ReplyDeleteYour dioramas are lovely (should have popped IN to that charity shop on my way back fro the haircut...) and your jacket is really fun. I, too, wonder why you parted with it! Enjoy your caravan holiday and better, meeting with friends!
ReplyDeleteBack from my first real HAIRCUT in 18 months - truly a HAPPY WOYWW!

Your dioramas look great! I hope you find a suitable outfit to embellish - I hate regretting getting rid of stuff (which is probably why I rarely do it!) have a good week Helen #2
ReplyDeleteYour dioramas look great. Charity shops do have some good stuff - although not always cheap! It’s good to feel you are helping by buying. Happy WOYWW Angela #12
ReplyDeleteThe jacket looks amazing and I know what you mean. I've let stuff go before and then regretted it but it happens. Have a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x17x
ReplyDeletei know what you mean. And I go hunting round for the near same replica. Love the frames. Might see in Ambleside Paul has university colleagues there and he needs a break so we have been invited to stay to heck it why not. His dad is now in a nursing home type of hospice thingy and the locks have been changed on his house. So we can rest easy .
ReplyDeleteI need my gingerbread bread as well!!
Loving the shadow box frames, such a clever way to showcase those interesting bits and pieces.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame about the suit, I hope that whoever bought it is wearing the heck out of it and its their favourite thing they ever found in a chazza.
Have a brilliant break, enjoy the sunshine and have a ball with your pals! xxx
no better reason for being away from the Deskers…visiting with real friends. I hope you have a marvellous few days, the weather is set fair too, so am sure it will be special. The dioramas are glorious, can’t choose between them really, but I do want to say that I love the colours in the balls. Enough already.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break Lynn. Love the diaramas! Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #4
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dioramas and a fab jacket. Why on earth did you part with it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time up north of north.
Hugs, Neet 5 xx
Such a lovely and creative post. Thanks so much for linking up to The Wednesday Link Up. I hope you can join us again tomorrow :) #TheWednesdayLinkUp
ReplyDeleteCool shirt! Loving those little dioramas too. Bye for now, Lisa-Jane #8
ReplyDeleteI'm loving those box frame dioramas. I've got a couple of box frames lying redundant. Such a shame we won't be able to meet up, as I would have brought them for you. I sold a lot of clothes to a Dutch lady in February 2020. She's selling them in her vintage shop and often posts photos of happy customers on her Instagram. It's lovely to see they're going to good homes, but I do regret getting rid of some of them!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely time at the caravan, you two! xxx
Your posts are always so full of imagination and creativity, Lynn, and what you come up with is always delightfully quirky! You also have an eye for oddments to pick up in charity shops etc. all crying out for transformation and just waiting for you to come along and give them a new lease of life! Your little dioramas are an absolute delight, and I love your "cropped" photos too which are always intriguing. My favourite this week is "Friends." Your transformed jacket is absolutely beautiful. Shame you parted with it, but I'm sure you'll find another like it to transform!
ReplyDeleteThank you for putting a smile on my face today!
Happy belated WOYWW,

Fabulous frames! Have fun with the caravaning! (We sold ours on ebay, we often wonder if they got it all the way back to Manchester safely!) Stay Safe! Happy very Late WOYWW ((Lyn)) #26
