Friday’s are all about bringing a smile to the world
and today I’ve got one of the biggest smiles on my face.
That’s because my niece Kim who is headteacher at St. Luke’s Primary School
in Heywood, Greater Manchester, and her wonderful team have organised
the purchase and distribution of 415 teddy bears to the pupils.
The little tops were printed very quickly by a company who are friends of Kim’s.
They also personalise single items as well.

You can find them on Facebook & Instagram
Here’s what Kim had to say.
“The children will be collecting their work packs to use after the half term and they will collect their surprise bear!
We have them given staggered times for collection and they are set up outside. The bears will be in a paper bag”
“To ensure all the children can access remote learning we have a good balance of technology and paper based work.
The children collect packs every few weeks. The teachers then go online every morning and explain the work to the class. Then they meet back up in the afternoon to go through it. So if they struggle with technology everything is in print”.
I’m very proud of Kim and her sister Keeley who is a frontline worker carrying out COVID testing
and is a partner in a charitable company providing PPE equipment.
My 88 year young Mum’s Facebook postings are becoming
a regular feature now on my Friday blog.
I’ll sign off with this flock of flamingoes that have decided
to make their winter nest outside our garden gate.
They rather like all the attention they get from the weekend ramblers.
