I’m going to have to find this pile of library books a place of their own otherwise they’ll get mixed up with the massive collection of books I have strewn all over the house.
These are what I was given when I went to the local library to try out their Request and Collect Service. I’m mightily impressed with how it works. There’s not even a time limit on how long I can keep them. I was told to bring them back when I’ve finished.
I do miss going to the library I’ve used the same one for over 60 years. On the plus side I’m going to save myself a fortune on Amazon now.
This lovely ghost painting on wood arrived from Instagram friend Bodkincreates. She’s ready to take her place next to the Sue Dove canvas I have in my craft room. Devon artist Hesta painted one of my Mum on holiday in the Lake District a couple of years ago. I liked it so much I kept it and asked her to do me another to give to Mum. My niece Sophie is also smitten with Hesta’s paintings and is building up a little collection of her own.
There was another bit of excitement yesterday when Postman Sid delivered
two lots of vintage wallpaper that I found on the internet.
I’m going to mix them in with the ones I’ve already used to make a patchwork wall in the craft room.
The weather was so nice on Friday after days and days of rain, snow, fog and sleet.
I rang Mum and asked her if she wanted to go to our favourite local farm shop.
So basket and mask at the ready off we went, Mum wearing her mask and the car windows open.

Back home and a good hot cuppa was needed.
As bright as the day had been it was chilly.
It’s Saturday morning now as I’m posting this and that means we will
It’s Saturday morning now as I’m posting this and that means we will
be listening to Sounds of the 60’s with Tony Blackburn on Radio 2.
No plans as yet for the day ahead. I’ll come back to you on that one.
Do one little thing today that will make you smile.
We are moving forward folk, big thumbs up to us all.

Love the wallpapers! It actually made me testy eyed reading about you and your mom going to market. The simple things are so precious. We are separated from all our kids and my mom who is in a home in another province. She had Alzheimer’s as well. I try hard to do something each day that makes me smile.💕
ReplyDeleteKeep going we are moving forward day by day. Working on your lovely blog is a smile you are bringing to others. Take care.

I think your stack of books look great right where you have them! I love the painting and your beautiful craft room. I can't wait to see the patchwork wall finished up. Have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you. On top of the desk is the best place for them as they’re not surrounded by any of my own haha.
DeleteHope your weekend is going well. Take good care

What a brilliant scheme the library's Request and Collect Service is. I can't believe they're not giving you a time limit either!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely painting your friend sent you, and that groovy vintage wallpaper is very much my cup of tea! Speaking of which, how lovely to virtually join you for a cuppa! Lots of love to you two from us two xxxxxx
I’m just waiting for Philip to cut me a piece of plywood to cover a bit of tongue and groove over the door where I want to apply the patchwork wallpaper.
DeleteThe library scheme is going to save me a fortune. I won’t need to keep buying books now

Your wallpaper is absolutely gorgeous, I bet you can't wait to use it and I can't wait to see it.
ReplyDeleteHooray for ebay and it it's treasures. I won a set of Raj-era Indian postcards for £2 on Friday, they're as tatty as hell but I know we'll be able to do something with them.
You look fabulous and your trip out with your mum must have been a real tonic! xxx
