Extracts from my journal
Christmas Day
A morning filled with excitement.
There’s a buzz of anticipation in the air.
Decisions to be made
Do we open our presents before I join Mum for breakfast.
Should we open one or two
Should we save them for my return back home.
No snow on the ground.... good.
Otherwise how would I get down the hill.
Chapter One
The first paragraph
A house absorbs happiness, it blooms into the wallpaper,
the wood of the window frames, the bricks : that’s how it
becomes a home.
I’m hooked, reeled in. A read as atmospheric as the day.
What a view you've got from your bedroom window. I'd be sitting and staring at it all day! But then of course, what about those presents ;-) Your book sounds lovely! xxx
ReplyDeleteI love waking up to it every morning Ann with a cup of tea xxx
DeleteI love your view x
ReplyDeleteOff to check out the book :)
I’m enjoying it so far xx
DeleteWhat a lovely view to wake up to. It must be different each morning.
ReplyDeleteIt is Ellie and I never tire of looking at it, even after 30 years
DeleteWhat a glorious view to wake up to!
ReplyDeleteSo, tell me more...did you open the presents or wait till you'd been to your Mum's?
I'm liking the introduction to your latest read. xxx
We opened the presents from each other before I went to Mum’s, then some when I got back and the last ones while dinner was cooking.
DeleteI love the introduction to the book. It’s not a bad read but I think I need something a bit lighter at the moment, so I may ditch it for now xxx
