My 65th pared down birthday celebrations are coming to a close as we get ready for the arrival this weekend of my sister who lives in Witney, Oxford and haven’t seen since Christmas.
After looking round a few places for new sofas we have decided to have ours reupholstered again. The last time was 15 years ago and we’ve actually had them 25 years. They originally were made by a company called Lakeland in Blackburn, Lancashire.
All the new stuff we looked at was either to big or boring, so we are going full tilt and having them recovered in a Persian Kilim pattern.
This time the fabric is coming from Halifax in Yorkshire and the work done by Raj Upholstery in Waterfoot, Rawtenstall. A local independent company established in 1985 just up the road from us.

Here’s our neighbours old horse waiting for Storm Francis to roll in overnight. Don’t think there’ll be much walking over
the moors Tuesday or Wednesday going off the forecast.
We are so lucky to have all this outside our front gate
Look at this lovely commissioned piece my friend Pat gave
me for my birthday. It’s by Catherine Daniels Ceramics.
Isn’t it lovely.
Sorry it’s so higgledy piggledy I’ve lost my storytelling stride a bit. Hope everyone is safe.
Remember it’s ok to make your own headlines, you don’t have to listen to the scaremongering every minute of the day.
See ya soon
Love
Lynn
