What’s on your Workdesk Wednesday

Here it is, finished at last, a little book bag to protect an old precious autograph album.

If you haven’t seen the album you can link across here to see the inside  A VERY SPECIAL ALBUM dated 1919.

Had my posh frock on again yesterday to take Mum for lunch at our go to place, Park Farm Shop & Tearoom.  My friend and her mum were there too. It all felt very normal despite the troubled times we are all sharing.

Even so, though we enjoy the drive over the hills to get there and feel comfortable and safe while we are there, we both agreed it’s good to get back home after.

Hope all my desk hopping friends are well and being creative.  Blogland is such a great place to be.
Looking forward to seeing what you’ve all been upto this week.

  4. Hi Lynn. Well done - the book bag looks good. Glad you were able to get out for tea and a gander around. I know what you mean though - getting home again afterwards is something rather good, isn't it?! The "new normal" isn't normal at all...
    Take care. God bless.

    1. It’s not normal Margaret and snatching moments here and there of simple pleasures is so important.

  5. that is such a beautiful way to keep a treasure Miss Lynn, I wonder why we aren’t all doing it. Wait. Oh, yes, I know why we aren’t. Skill. Hmm. Extremely glad that you get to don your posh frock, because it’s lovely, because it’s lovely to dress up and because it’s lovely to see you Mum and bonus, to see friends too! yep, we’re still living a careful life and really enjoying it when we do get out a bit, which is really how it should be isn’t it. Keep stitching gal, I can’t live properly without the odd swoon at your stuff.

  6. That's a lovely way to protect a treasure, Lynn and so pretty, much like your dress.
It's surprising how normal being out can be isn't it, although I know what you mean about it nice to be home again. I'm glad you enjoyed your lunch, sounds perfect.
    Have a good week

  9. Hi Lynn, loving the album bag and the dress. Popped over for a look at the album, you're right it is very special. It looks to me like someone I could relate to who has collected odds and ends and then decided to mount them all together in an album. I am guilty of collecting things like this but have not got round to putting them all together in one place. Have a lovely creative woyww, Angela x11x

  13. I have admired your book bags before and thought 'I must do that' but inspired by this latest lovely one - and its contents - I am now actually getting stuff organised!

And yes, although in theory I am happy to go out again, after a relatively short time I am getting 'twitchy' and just want to get back home. It isn't helped by the little town I live in relying heavily on tourism, and it now seems very busy indeed after all those quiet months!

    1. Oh I’m excited to see what you come up with Julia.
We are very selective where we go. It’s mainly two little markets and the tearoom.
From one twitcher to another, stay safe xx

  18. its beautiful, what a lovely way to keep something so special free from dust. I am glad you went somewhere you felt normal. It’s sad when you feel you have to pick and choose we’re you go now.
And home is we’re you feel safest. I was glad to get back from the hospital yesterday, we had a little walk near a quiet park there, but I know what you mean. East, west home is best! Take care and keep safe.

  20. Your book bag is gorgeous, Lynn, and any excuse to wear that fabulous frock will do in my book. Sometimes things do feel like normal, but not for very long, as there's always something there to remind you and spoil the game! It's lovely to be able to go out and have lunch in a place you feel safe in. The only thing we managed so far is have a coffee sitting outside a café in a park. We didn't plan it, but saw a little table with nobody else in sight so just plonked ourselves down. xxx
