I have finished another lot of headbands for the nurses at Wythenshawe hospital, so I’m counting that as something on my desk this week.
My niece Sophie made this for my mum out of all bits and pieces she had at home. Isn’t it lovely.
I’m teaching Philip how to cook. So far he’s made spicy Parsnip soup and cottage pie. He looks rather fetching in his pinny don’t you think.
And here’s what I’m currently reading. I’ve a massive pile of books to get through. Not being a daytime reader there’s no chance of me running out of books. I only read at night in bed and in the morning when I wake up. It’s something I’ve done all my life from being a nipper.
A couple of days a week I pop down to my Mum’s with shopping and if the weather is warm I’ll take a flask and sit in her garden at a safe distance. It’s hard when it comes to leaving though and we can’t have a hug.
It’s not forever though, so keep smiling everyone and I’ll see you next week. I’m on a mission to get back to crafting of some sort, so watch this space.
Stay safe

Morning Lynn. Hey - Welsh poppies!!! YAY! Those buttons on the headbands are rather gorgeous! Well done on so many. The little box is beautiful - well done to your niece. Hubby does indeed look rather fetching - hope he is enjoying the new life skill! Not come across that particular book - is it good? I'm an avid reader, and get completely lost in books - love 'em!
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourselves. Stay safe. God bless.

Great job with the headbands Lynn, I think the sewing folk of the UK have come up trumps in the past few weeks. I did love the pic of your hubby cooking, good lad - my hubby turns out a better roast dinner then me! That picture was a very thoughtful present from your niece, you'll always treasure that.

ohhh well done on teaching hubby to cook - i fear there would be a murder if i tried - having said that we do have the tiniest kitchen . I love that he let you photograph him in that pinny. I have not picked up a book since lockdown and I have 100's to read - maybe i could listen via audio while crafting - off to find some ear buds.Take care xxSoojay#22
ReplyDeleteYou can come teach my Hubby to cook when all this lockdown is done Lynn, i've been trying for over 30 years.. What a lovely make from your Niece, i'm always touched by those that are personal. Take care & stay safe, creative time always waits so patiently for us all.. Tracey #6 xx

ReplyDeleteLoving the headbands Lynn, especially the heart shaped buttons. Your niece is talented too - must run in the family. Enjoy the visit to your mum. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #5
ReplyDeleteJust love how you set your blog days out.
ReplyDeleteI have been getting Chas to help with the baking, just doing the mixing, so that my back doesn't give up and he seems to be enjoying it, or is that more he is enjoying the fruits of his labour?
Just have a feeling I might have read that book - need to check up.
Stay safe and well
Hugs, Neet 4 xx
Lovely.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on reading. I read at night and have been doing so for years. I find it impossible to read during the day, except for leafing through arty books. xxx
The headbands count very much as crafty desk stuff! Good for you, I expect the staff are really happy to have soft and bright fabrics to wear. I visit my Ma in Law on the same basis...we sit on her sun drenched patio and shout at each other for as long as we aren’t exhausted by it and then I come away. She’s naturally deaf because she’s a like old lady and I’m half deaf from scalpel wielding, so it can get loud!! I thank goodness that the weather has been as good as it has, or I fear her mental health would have suffered, she’s been a widow for about 18 months and struggles on her own when she can’t get out to do something in the garden or visit the neighbours horses.
ReplyDeleteI love your headbands. So cool that you are teaching your husband to cook. Happy WOYWW! Stay safe and take care, with love and God Bless, Caro xxx (#17)
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, love the headbands - I go to Wythenshawe once a year for a checkup, the cardiac nurses/team there are fab. Great photo of hubby cooking - Mr M is a better cook than me, by better I mean more adventurous. I tend to stock to things I know, unless I am baking and then I make it up as I go along. I used to read every day, but as I've got older I'm sure there are less hours in the day, and I don't seem to have the same amount of time as I used to have. Have a lovely week and stay safe and well, Heather xx #20
ReplyDeleteI find it hard to establish a structure to my days too. And I agree that they do seem to fly by, even if one isn't doing very much at all. And soon you won't have to do any cooking anymore, it seems. More time for faffing :-) I mostly read in bed too, often dropping off after only a couple of minutes. It makes my books last and last ... xxx
ReplyDeleteYou're so right the days do seem to go quickly even though we're not going anywhere. But there's still plenty to do at home. I'm not so lucky as my hubby has no idea about cooking unless it's something to just warm up. Loving the shoes too. Wishing you a rather late but happy woyww and a lovely crafty week, Angela x21x
ReplyDeleteThose headbands look a treat and I am sure they are very much appreciated. the week flys by for me as well, thank goodness for woyww or I would completely miss wednesday. Your instagram photos are a treat.... it is a different type of art. Have a lovely week visiting your mum.

ReplyDeleteYour headbands are lovely. I keep meaning to make myself a mask but never get round to it. I read every morning when I'm eating breakfast and at bedtime, but my favourite time is in the afternoon sitting in my comfy leather reclining chair, sometimes it's too comfy and I fall asleep!
