When the weather turns bandit on us and the rain lashes against the windows it’s time to get my sewing goggles on and start a new project
Drawing inspiration from my stash of fabrics and my love of creating strips of embroidery attached to bobbins a new piece of work emerged.
I generally don’t have a plan, each piece evolves organically. I did however have an idea of the words I wanted to use and who it is I’m making it for.
It’s not quite finished yet but you’ll get the general idea.

Morning Lynn. Not sure what happened there, as my comment disappeared into the ether despite the page telling me it was published... so, in case you didn't get it... here goes again.
ReplyDeleteLove the piece - fun, funky, and great in that pink.
Take care. God bless.

The colours you're using today are very similar to what I've shown on my desk! I really love the combination and the fact that the project is taking its own shape, so to speak! You always have such interesting ideas.

That's fab Lynn! I'd have liked to be holed up crafting rather than at work today lol!! Helen #2
ReplyDeleteI bow to you Lynn. I am hesitating sewing some pages together and here you are making faces on your sewing machine. How on earth do you have such control? Love your face and the gingham, well, pink gingham says it all in my book, I love it.

It looks wonderful for an unfinished piece Lynn, I love how you know the words and just let the rest happen. How do you know when it’s finished? I have a huge problem with that, and am so admiring when people step back and know.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, Great looking piece of needlework. It's rained that much this past week, I'd be permanently in my craft room if it wasn't for work, and shopping and visiting lol. Have a lovely week (in spite of the weather), hugs Heather xx #25
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely, Lynn! Looking forward to seeing the finished result! xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, sounds like a plan to me. I'm well late getting round this week but I will drop by everyone no matter what, don't like to miss anyone out. Have a great creative week, and a happy belated woyww, Angela x15x
ReplyDeleteI love the lady she is so cool! I also love the colors you chose for your strip of fabric. I keep saying I want to get back and do some embroidery. But don't be fooled by that comment because I was and still am a beginner!! But I keep wanting to do a tea towel for my mother in law and then I buy everything and it sits in the bag and never happens. You just might be the inspiration I need. Have a wonderful weekend!

I'm so late, Lynn, but determined to visit your 'desk' whatever, and I believe I've seen this piece finished. It's lovely. The Suffolk puffs make it very special. Elizabeth x #23
