Don’t quote me but ......

Spotted this at a yard sale on Monday.
Had no idea what they were for at first but knew they would be coming home with me at £3 for the lot.

I fathomed out they are posh name card holders for when you have dinner parties.
As we don’t have much of that going on here I’m going to make them into little quote holders.

I hope everyone has had a lovely Easter break.
I know we have with sunshine, friends and a whole lot of lolling around

  2. Oh sweet, what a cute find! are they royal Albert or capodimonte type China? Nice buy. I think friends would collapse if I suddenly started using place cards on the rare occasions that we do supper by invitation...these days it’s usually a take away on the back of some unplanned drinks! Love the little vignettes captured today. And you’re right about the desk...I’m actually going to be upstairs, faffing about as far away from it as I can get!!

    1. There’s no name on them Julia but yes you’re right they are that sort of china. Maybe I should invite people round for a chippy tea and use them haha

  8. They are delightful and I would definitely start entertaining just to be able to use them! I'm glad you had a lovely Easter, we had wall to wall sunshine and spent lots of time in the garden, but back to grey sky and rain today unfortunately.
    Have a great week,

  11. A brilliant re-purpose to use those place card holders as frames for clever quotes!
Easter seems like a world away now - back to dreary grey skies and a nip in the air, a sure sign we're trading outside all weekend! xxx

  12. Whatever their original purpose, they are perfect as place holders. A great find. Our meal at the pub was excellent. I hope yours with your Mum is just as good. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter) #26

  13. Lynn your little card holders are a delight! You could always use them for supporting small cards or tags when you want to photograph them, or for displaying ATCs etc. I knew what they were as soon as I saw them! What a bargain. I love the quote too - so funny! Must remember that one.

Hope you had a nice Easter.
    Happy WOYWW,
