After the high jinx of a creative workshop
in Brighouse, Yorkshire I’ve felt inspired to carry on with my stitch work. So when friend Jacqui asked if I was playing out I said yes let’s have a craft day.
With my basket at the ready, packed with all my
stitch stuff and cake, off I went.
I’ve never been able to master the art of making fabric Suffolk puffs/yo-yo’s but with the help of a neat little piece of kit from Clover crafts I’ve finally got the hang of it.
Here’s some ideas I found for using them to make jewellery.
This could become addictive and I’ll be adding them to jackets, cardigans, bags, skirts, wall hangings, cushions and oh yes the fabric journal I made with Viv Sliwka aka Hens Teeth textile Artist.
I’m meeting up with my friend Jacqui again on Monday and we are going to make a little coin purse using the Japanese boro stitch technique as inspired by friend and textile artist
Tina Gilmore
Here’s another little project we’ve got lined up using an old tin, collage and stitch
