Winter what’s on and what’s off

Oops !  I casted off to soon.

One thing I will not be casting off  is my winter clobber, it’s freezing up this hill.
As my wandering welder husband likes to point out to everyone
“well we are 1000 feet above sea level that’s why it’s so cold”.
Not sure about that, I would have thought that would have made us nearer the sun.

Then again if I stay in I won’t need my coat and hat and might even get round to some crafting again. It’s been empty desk syndrome for a while now.

  1. Yes I’ve got to agree with you...it always amazes me that the tops of mountains have snow on top being nearer the sun. Never quite seems right does it? It’s reminded me of when Jo used to live up in Yorkshire....my dad always used to say how much colder it was up there and packed an extra jumper when visiting her.

  2. My sister always notices the temperature difference when visiting us in the Midlands from 'down South' so I can imagine what it's like for you 'up North'. Keep warm. Sarah #9

  3. Pretty items in your photos. I only hope that our winter has sunshine. Previous 3 wks were so gloomy and it really zaps me. #17 wishing you warm temps and sending some MoJo..

  4. I remember being stunned when we first moved up to Newcastle - how much colder and drier it was up there. And then even more stunned by the lads and lasses in the city centre on the weekend, in shirt sleeves and skimpy dresses in Dec!!!

  6. That's indeed something to think about: why indeed is it colder up a mountain? I'm sure the view is lovely, though. Oops about the waistcoat ;-) xxx

  7. Wah!! I'd just written a long comment and the blasted thing vanished! Let's try again.
Ooops to the waistcoat! That's something I'd do. Why don't you make up the missing bit in a clashing colour and make a feature of it?
Isn't it cold? You're looking very stylish despite the inclement weather. I'm dreading doing out tomorrow night even though it does involve free alcohol!
Lovely to see you back in Blogland! xxx

  8. I so love a waistcoat and I'm sure you can sort that soon, love it. It is of course colder the higher you get because of the lower pressure which is why although the alps are South of France it's cold enough to ski, lovely! Have a great and very creative woyww, Angela x12x

  9. You're right, it doesn't seem correct... shame about the waistcoat, hope you get it fixed. Helen #2

  10. Hi Lynn, sorry but I did chuckle when I saw your waistcoat fronts and have to admit to having done much the same in the past. I'm fact, if I was paid for every knitting/crochet mistake I'd be a very wealthy lady 😁. Although I do know why the higher we go the colder it gets it doesn't seem right - like you say it's nearer the sun ⛅. Wishing you a warmer week. Elizabeth x #32
