Hello, I'm ringing in to say that I am sorry there won't be
much to see on the desk this week but we've been away for a few days.
However, I have finished the back of the waistcoat I'm knitting. Just one side to do now.
To make up for the lack of work I thought this new book might interest some readers.
Even if fabric is not your thing a lot of the techniques could be applied to papercrafting.
Then seeking inspiration from the creation box I worked from last week
I thought how about covering this polystyrene ball (it periodically appears on
my desk awaiting an idea for use) with cut flowered fabrics and ribbons to make a pretty hanging.
So when I've finished unpacking and washing and all the boring office stuff
I can get cracking.
You can have a look around some more desks

Hi Lynn. I had to smile at your polystyrene ball....I had a large polystyrene teddy for years and could never think what to do with it.....think he got binned when we moved. I will be watching with interest what you do but even so it's too late now for ted.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a creative week.

Lots of fussy cutting in your future...and I don't need a crystal ball to tell that! See what I did there!! hope you enjoyed your days away..makes the catching up so much easier if you did!
ReplyDeleteI like the start that you've made with the polystyrene ball; it reminds me of a pomander. Happy WOYWW Sarah #13
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for the polystyrene ball, I'm liking the blue flowers. Hope you enjoyed your days away and how lovely to have your washing out drying in the sunshine, a very happy photo!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week.

Washing outside? You've clearly got better weather than ours, it's horrid here!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a wonderful break. Well done on cracking on with your knitting. xxx
How funny, I've got a polystyrene ball too that hangs around and I don't know what to do with it! Perhaps I'll wait for you to create one of your beautiful works of art and get inspiration from that! Lovely to see washing on the line and the sun shining - you are lucky, we have drizzle at the moment.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week,

Hi Lynn. Imagine. We are being able to pout washing outside even though it is still only March! It's just been so gloriously warm and sunny these past few days. Love to keep watching what you do with the ball - I think I have a few polystyrene pieces around the house waiting for me to do something with them...
ReplyDeleteTake care. god bless.

Hi Lynn, hope you had some of the lovely weather we have been enjoying for your few days away. I've popped the book on to my wish list - can't justify buying another stitchy book after my most recent purchase but I'm sure I'll break soon :) You're going to be doing a lot of fussy cutting but the ball should look very pretty once fully covered. Lovely line of washing! Have a great week. Elizabeth x #26
ReplyDeleteIt was the line of petticoats on the line that made me smile this morning! Blimey, that takes me back to when we had to make Broderick anglaise garments in school....the thing is you'd look amazing in them. I would resemble an old maid, lol!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the ball btw...
Hugs, LLJ 8 xxxx
Love your story telling! The ball will look lovely with the flowers and ribbons, and, of course, the Lynn touch.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet 2 xx
Even when you've been away your post is so interesting! It's the storytelling way that you post - love it! I will look forward to seeing the completed ball! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #35
