This is the super green tweed jacket I picked up on Saturday
in Todmorden for £7. It's a definite favourite for me,
I'm even wearing it around the house
Sunday I teamed it with grape coloured opaque tights,
teal Fly London boots and a vintage skirt I've had for some time.
The wandering welder had a day off on Sunday so we headed over to Hebden Bridge
to stalk the charity shops and have a look in the new premises of
Hebden's antique centre. It had to relocate after the floods last year.
The books came from the Overgate Hospice shop.
I love old books and want to set up a reading area in my home.
I never read during the day, don't know why it feels a bit self indulgent.
Working class thing probably.
I figure if I have a little area with a cosy chair, lamp and table to hold books
and a cuppa that I might just escape there on miserable wet days.
As you can see I'm addicted to this jacket and wore it again
on Monday to take Auntie Gladys shopping.
This time I've put it with my skirt made from a curtain found in the charity shop.
Added bottle green opaque tights and bottle green patent leather loafers from
Clarks sale last year and of course my trusty charity shop basket
They'll be peeling this jacket off me at this rate
Thanks for popping by
Lynn x
I rarely read during the day too and when I occasionally do (for pleasure and not for work), it does seem quite decadent to me as I feel I should be working instead!
ReplyDeleteFab outfits too and that jacket was a great buy - I love how you've accessorised it too, especially with your curtain skirt.
I read loads on holiday but very rarely during the day (unless it's the weekend Guardian), I'm not sure why.
ReplyDeleteLove the jacket, it looks wonderful with the bright pink and the groovy print skirt. Looking at the BBC weather it looks like we'll be back in our big coats later this week...boo! xxx
Hi Lynn,
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm still in the working class and love reading. I actually read during my lunch break almost every day! (And sometimes I visit blogs.)
The jacket looks great and I like the second outfit, especially the skirt made from curtains!
Hugs,
Kay
Somehow, I too rarely read during the day! Strange, that is. I never realized this until you mentioned it. Lovely jacket, and you can put both skirts in my pile of things ;-) xxx
ReplyDeleteMeant to reply to your question yesterday, Lynn. Yes, it's perfectly fine to read during the day. We do. Granted we are getting on a bit and don't go out to work any more but reading is simply one of life's great pleasures. However, I will say that my daytime reading is usually confined to times when I'm not feeling well but having arthritis and asthma, that's rather more often than I care to admit. Love your jacket and the skirt made from curtains is stunning! xx
