"O" the heaven I was in when I found myself in a rust graveyard
What am I talking about ???
Well a week ago I found myself with hubby at Threlkeld Mining Museum near Keswick in the Lake District. We were there to see the steam digger he recently helped to restore with the help of a lottery grant.
While the Fred Dibnahs of the digger world chewed over the ins and outs of shovels I roamed off for a chat with their long suffering wives and came across this
It was no good, I was lost on first sight and my love all things rusty got the better of me and went camera mad.
Most ladies get excited by the thought of a day at the shops, not me give me a dirty old work yard any time
I can highly recommend this place if you have children. There's a steam train that takes you round the site. They can pan for gold and this man hand made a working miniature mining site.
Oh, my! I just love your pics as I adore rust. What a place to find it all!!

ReplyDeleteThat's definitely something I'd have fallen in love with, too. Rusty stuff and derelict buildings really interest me. Do you watch Salvage Hunters? Its one of my favourites. xxx
ReplyDeleteOld boiler houses are a dream for me Vix and yes I do watch Drew, we love all the places he visits xxx
