Mrs Dale's Friendship Book is now being invaded by those pesky Doodly Birds.
I loved her thoughts on the colour of grass.
"What a very happy thought God had when He decided to make grass green!
I often think that when I look out at the lawn in April and May. Suppose we had had red grass ? It would'nt have been nearly as restful, white would have been quite hopeless and yellow too dazzling. Brown or black would have been both horribly dull, and though blue grass might have just got by, green is, undoubtedly the only colour for grass"
So what would her thoughts have been on all the fashionable coloured grasses we have in our gardens now, I wonder.
Indeed, what would she have made of the beautiful grass created on your lovely page? Hehe
