You know me and Todmorden in Yorkshire, I can't keep away, especially on a Thursday when its the secondhand market. First up though the goodies above and below are from the fantastic haberdashery/wool stall on the inside market. We must have been there over an hour picking and choosing trims, fabrics, buttons and threads.
I found this vintage linen on a stall on the outside market.
My lovely generous friend Tracy gave me this hankie and a piece of her wedding dress. I can't believe she has cut it up. How brave. If you did'nt already know we are working on an embroidery course using vintage and new linen and trims.
These lovely mats came from the basket we swooped on in the antique shop.
Last up my wonderful friend in Scotland sent me a really nice piece of vintage fabric and an Easter card she made from all the family, as well as one of St. Ives artist Carolyn Saxby's cards. Thank you so much Mo you are too kind.
This lovely handstitched tablecloth came from the basket in the antique centre.
In the charity shop we snatched this dress
and we have cut it in half to use on our project.
Tracy has the front and Ive got the back.
To top it all we had the most yummy traditional chip shop lunch. Can't wait to go again.
wow. so many beautiful pieces.
ReplyDeleteAll those beautiful and gorgeous goodies - I'd say you have enough to make pieces to cover all four walls of your studio. Love the embroidered cloth and that lovely dress. And how very nice of your friend to give you a piece of her wedding dress although I'm sure she knows you will make something wonderful with it. I can see that all you are being taught on the course is paying off :) Elizabeth xx
