My lovely goddaughter Amy is studying Performing Arts at school so this year Ive got myself a theatre buddy. Our first outing was to see Poet Laureate, Carol Ann Duffy's "Rats' Tales" in the fantastic Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester.
The theatre itself is worth a visit, it is a stunning building and the production was fantastic with each tale flowing seamlessly into the next, holding your attention throughout the whole performance.
It was also a great opportunity for me to go and spend some of my Christmas money in Paperchase.
I am planning to use some of the papers on the course I am doing.
So watch this space.
Our next outing is the tour of the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. We will hear about why the building is built on springs and all about the acoustics. This will be great for Amy as she is currently studying lighting and sound.
Great for me to it means I get to play out.
I'm drooling over those papers! Lucky you having a theatre buddy :)

It's great Jo as she is so interested in everything x
DeleteOh Lynn, my favourite shop in the whole of Manchester! The papers you got are fabulous. I love the Bridgewater Hall, so hope you enjoy your tour. Hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteNot much Christmas money left now Anne after going in Paperchase haha
DeleteHow lovely to enjoy a trip to the theatre! I'm going to the cinema on Wednesday evening, but it's not quite the same, haha.
ReplyDeleteLO-o-ve the papers Lynn! I was in Paperchase in Aberdeen yesterday and got a few envelopes and some paper for my nephews card. I also got a few bits on their sale and some glow-in-the-dark star stickers for a certain wee man's room, to go with the other 300+ already there :0) Mo xx
I saw a paper that had lots of buses on Mo and thought of Logan
DeleteJust popped over from Tag Tuesday - your course sounds so interesting, I shall definitely be keeping an eye on your blog! That paper from Paperchase is gorgeous - I love their stuff and can't wait to see what you do with it.
ReplyDeleteIve been using it today Diana and you can see some of it on my flickr site. It will appear on my blog next week in more detail.
DeleteYou need to go and see Accrington Pals at the Exchange with her then. Great atmospheric lighting and definitely sound effects (battle!). We went to opening night last night - we recommend it xx
ReplyDeletePS - a tip (although too late for Pals) ~ we book everything at the start of the season and book one of the 2 preview nights as you get a real bargain price. It also means we see some plays that we probably wouldn't have booked normally - we've had some real surprises xx
ReplyDeleteBrilliant thanks Glenda for the tip offs x x
