My well travelled sketchbook......

Last year I made a sketchbook to include in the Brooklyn Sketchbook Project.
You could choose a theme from a given list and then interpret it in your own way.
The theme I chose was "NOTHING NEW."
I looked at it in the light of the things we do now that have carried on from the past.
It was sent off to Brooklyn, New York where it was put into a library of over 1000 books that would tour the world.  The set up is brilliant as it records how often your book has been looked at.
This week it will be in London and we are off down there to see it on the shelves with all the others.  The event is being held in the Canada Wharf Library.
We are travelling down by train and staying a few days.  Included in our trip we have got ourselves tickets for WAR HORSE at the National Theatre.

Its all very exciting.

I have plans to also see the sketchbooks of Diana Taylor of Velvet Moth Studio Blog.  Kim Tillyer of Witchmountain Blog.
St. Ives artists Carolyn Saxby and Sally MacCabe amongst others.
If you want to see the digital version of my book here is the link
Link for the digital sketchbook

I am hoping to be able to write about the books I see when I come back and include their links.  (fingers crossed I can pull it off)

  1. Hi Lynn, thank you so much for saying you'll visit my sketch book, it's nice to know it will see a friendly face - I can't get up to London unfortunately but I would dearly have liked to. It sounds like you're going to have a blast! Have a fantastic time and hope you enjoy War Horse (I'm now quite envious!!!)

  6. I made my first attempt at "linking" to your blog, not sure it worked. I wanted to share my experience visiting the Sketchbook Project in Portland, Oregon last May. I posted my trip to the show on May 13, 2012 on my blog, if my link didn't work. You'll will have a wonderful time looking through all of the inspiring art. Just give yourself an hour or two because once you start you will want to see them all, which might actually take days. They are very organized and it was a smoothly run operation considering the size and scope of the whole thing. You'll love it! Sounds like a exciting weekend.
