I love reading the blog of textile and mixed media artist Diana Taylor of Hampshire, UK
Her blog name is VELVET MOTH STUDIO
Diana's photography is always stunning and what drew me this week was the photo collages she submitted to COLLAGE OBSESSION CHALLENGE. The theme was any art form using the colour grey.
I decided to take up the challenge myself and have submitted this piece which I made from a piece of slate I found on the moor along with the grey wire.
Ive drilled holes in the slate and weaved string through it. Its mounted on a canvas and hangs on my studio wall.
I like the idea of a collage challenge so I am going to start following along.
Thanks Diana.
Hi Lynn,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the mention - I love, love, love this piece of yours - and I'm so glad I'll be seeing more of your amazing work over at Collage Obsession.
Sorry about the word verification thingy - but thanks for leaving a message despite the hassle - it's a bit of a pain but when I tried switching it off for a while I started getting comments on my blog advertising how to buy orchids in Australia and how to find the 'love of my life' at a dating agency! So I figured it was best to leave it on!
Thanks again,
Diana xx
I had another go and succeeded Diana, but I know what you mean. Xx
DeleteLovely piece Lynn! You're so good at this type of thing :0) x
ReplyDeleteGreat work. Cheers
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn, missed this post yesterday, don't know how (?). I love this piece and am so impressed that you drilled those holes without breaking the slate (I would have). Love he addition of the string and the wire, great contrasts. Lovely piece. Crafty hugs, Anne x

ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful. I love art from found objects. A perfect subject for the grey challenge.
