A DOODLY BIRD THAT I DON'T LIKE

"I  LIKE THIS...................BUT I DON'T LIKE THIS"
SAID THE ALDI ADVERT ON THE TV

That is just what I said when I created this Doodly Bird for the Whitworth Scarecrow Festival 25th August-2nd September 2012

I liked it at this stage

But then the monster started to emerge

  1. Hi Lynn, methinks you protesteth too much...he may not be as lovely as the hand drawn Doodly but he is a fair representation in my humble opinion and perfect for the scarecrow event, although he might scare a few birds away! Crafty hugs, Anne x

  2. Sorry to 'rain on your parade' Lynn, but I don't do horror films. Inanimate things should nOt have nor have the appearance of life. I love dolls - indeed I have some BEautiful china dolls...but show me that AWful film 'Chucky' and you won't see me for dust, lol. And I'm sorry to say that this chap, to me, has the 'appearance of life'. What a cowardy custard I am. lol; yet I'm not squeamish in the slightest. I think I probably have an 'over-active' imagination - wish it would be over-active in my craft, haha.
I too, love him in the drawn stage, I'd have him in my house no problem, haha. I think it's a great festival idea and gets the 'whole' town involved in a very fun event. There were some crackers last year, I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures from this year. Hope it's not still raining there Lynn and you have a weekend full of fun :0) xx

  4. Isn't it funny when things morph from our plans to take on their own personality? :-) I'm sure he's caused lots of smiles so nothing lost eh?

  5. I think he is perfect for the scarecrow event but the design may need tweaking before I would call him a cuddly toy!! He is definitely a Doodly bird though. x Jo

  6. Well, I'm sure it added to the festival, it's got personality. I have to agree with you, though, something is a little off. Maybe the legs?

  9. What a talented lady you are, these are fantastic. My mum sewed a lot and tried so many times to teach me, but it just didn't happen. I knit and xstitch (but not for many years) but would love to do something like this. I can't even make simple curtains lol.

Thank you for the follow x
