More thrifty buys in Todmorden

This week I met friends Sandra from Earby & Tracy from Slaidburn for what is fast becoming known as Lynn's Tours of Todmorden.
First stop was coffee and cake on the inside market at Carlton's Catering.  Who can resist their delicious shortbreads, scones and cakes and I always come home with too many goodies.  For their outside catering, cookery lessons & buffets they now have a great website
Got some gorgeous boxes at really good prices (40p-£3.50) from the card stall owned by Pat who has been there for the past 13 years. We had a lovely chat with her and Jean about the great range of cards they stock.  There are cards for everything you can think of and loads of things for the Jubilee flags, banners, napkins, hats.
If you are looking for something special ring Pat on 077159 92056 or email her at patricia.raybould@btinternet.com
On the outside market today I met Tony and Ann who sell Antiques and do house clearances.  Tony's unique selling point is he can clear a house in three hours. (he hasnt seen mine).  I got what I hope will be a great two tier turntable to display the DOODLY BIRD RANGE  when I am at craft fairs. It needs painting white first so I am not showing it you yet.
You can contact Tony and Ann at tony.coulthard50@tiscali.co.uk
Bargain £4 the lot
I finally ended up buying these spats from Aileen of Retrodec Vintage Clothes.
Contact Aileen at aileenj53@gmail.com if you are looking for something in particular.
They will be at  Altrincham Vintage Market this Sunday.
Here are my other treats
Lunch today was at Laurels on Water Street

  3. I completely agree with Mel about 'your neck of the woods'. You are just SO lucky to have so many fabulous places to see, visit, interact with, take part in, eat in! Wow-wee!
Well you bought the spats, mentioned in an earlier post, so are you going to spill what you're going to do with them? Hmm?
Love the treats you bought, especially the buttons ;) And I laughed at that retirement card. How glam is she!?! Must have 'made it' on the stock-market and retired at thirty! Haha.
The watches are right up my street - not Water Street mind you, hehe.
Enjoy the rest of your day ;) xx
