What’s on your workdesk Wednesday

It’s that day of the week where we grab a cuppa, settle down
and virtually get together with friends over at
What’s on your Workdesk Wednesday

Yesterday I sat watching the much acclaimed film The Dig starring
Ralph Fiennes, while I worked on a tag for friend and textile artist
Anne Brookes ‘52 Tag Challenge’ over on Instagram and You Tube.

I’m not doing the challenge every week, just joining in when I fancy.
This weeks theme was KISSES and I drew inspiration for mine
from a piece of art I have by St. Ives artist Sue Dove.

Rummaging round for my sewing stuff I came across this canvas
bag I started decorating at least two years ago, so the plan is to
get that finished next.

This one I did finish

I know we are all feeling a bit broken, confused and worried
at the moment but you know what, we are getting there.

Keep smiling folks, keep checking in on one another spring
is just around the corner.

See you next week you lovely lot and thanks for
calling by.

  2. I love it all, but the canvas is really something. So evocative. And are those mudlarked pipe stems in the last? Amazing what the addition of a couple of googly eyes can do!

    Happy WOYWW to all!

  3. That bag is fabulous, what a beautiful piece of art!
I love stem ginger biscuits and so does Stephen, I have to dunk them in tea for him and he purrs with joy.
Everyone seems to be talking about The Dig, we only have normal TV so I'll have to wait. Love Ralph Fiennes, especially in The Grand Budapest Hotel!
    Have a lovely day! xxx

    1. Even better than The Dig has been the Channel 5 drama this week - The Drowning. Definitely worth a watch. Jill Halfpenny was brilliant. Xxx

  11. So much to love about your blog - today and always. Love those biscuits (a favourite of mine I just love ginger) and the work of Sue Dove. I like how you have decorated that bag and now doing the second one in a different colour - to match outfits? Then finally love the clay pipes, how fabulous to have those.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  12. Oh wow, those clay pipe creatures are just awesome, they made me smile a lot. So many bits of pipe turn up in gardens, that’s the best way to make use of them! I love the way you used those scraps of fabric to decorate the bag, it really makes a huge difference and looks fab. You’re a clever lady using scraps and thread in interesting ways!

  16. Your bag is lovely and has given me an idea for a hessian shopping bag given out to shoppers in M&S. It's got writing on both sides and it's a bit rough, I haven't used it but it would look much nicer with some pretty collage on it.

  17. You have so many amazing projects! I spent a lot of time just looking at the photo over and over again! Everything is so beautifully staged! The pipes, I think, are my favorite. For the moment anyway!

  23. Your projects are always so different, so enterprising and surprising, Lynn! I love visiting and seeing what you have been up to. Your canvas bags are a triumph and sure to turn some heads when you are out shopping. The little clay pipe animals are really quirky - so imaginative! All your things are so beautiful this week.

Funnily enough, my hubby and I have just watched the film "The Dig" as well! Recommended by my friend in Brazil. My hubby and I visited Sutton Hoo a few years ago when we were over that way on holiday and we were completely blown away. I found the film incredibly moving and exciting and I've saved it in my list to watch again. I thought the cinematography was stunning as well.

Thank you for your visit and especially for your prayers. I think Shaz needs our prayers more than I do at the moment but so much appreciated nonetheless! I agree with you about men being softies - my hubby is far worse than me when it comes to the kitties! The blanket is coming on fine and I'm really keen to get on to the making up stage next, and finally the embellishments. Still quite a bit of work to do.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  27. Hi Lynn! I'm doing that challenge as well, are you in the FB group? I don't do hand stitching, so I interpret the prompt with stamps. I will post my tag next week on my blog. Yours is very nice and big! The quilted bags are beautiful! I used to be able to do stitching like that, but my eyes and arthritis really won't let me anymore. Stay safe and stay warm! Lindart #33

  28. I love the lady and the bird and the bags and the pipes with eyes! So funny! I'm just off for some hot chocolate and I'm sure there's dark chocolate ginger bickies some where! We watched The Dig too...what happened? Um...oh yes!! The boat under the hill. Glad Bazil Brown (Lord Voldemort!)was mentioned in the end for all his hard work! Hope you're well. Happy Crafting -Happy late WOYWW!? ((Lyn))#20
