Friday smiles - Cows and dachshunds

I’m joining in with

Guaranteed to make the corners of your mouth curl upwards.
Anyone can join in

I’ve started reading Sara Cox book about her early years.
If like me you read in bed at night, you’ll find yourselves
chuckling out loud so give your other half fair warning.

My 88 year old Mum has been at it on Facebook again and somehow
managed to find and post these lovely comforting posters.

At the other end of the age scale our young nephew showed us the
fun he’s having with the new puppies.  He’s very good at taking
care of them while they get big enough to go to their forever homes
later this month.

Rosie, Molly & Dexter
Dachshunds

While I waited for the wandering welder to return from his
Covid vaccination I did the weekly debugging of facemasks.

Pour boiling water over non bio washing liquid/powder and give
them a bashing with the potato masher before leaving them
to soak for a bit. Rinse and leave to dry.

Here’s my lovely jug of tulips to remind you that spring
is on its way.

Have a lovely weekend.
Keep going folks
We are moving forward

  1. I really enjoyed your post today Lynn. Little Theo used to sing “you are my sunshine “ when he was about 2 so it brought back very special memories for me. Love the little puppies. I know just how much our little fur baby is helping to get us through this difficult time so hope they share as much love as she does. Thanks for joining in.
    Hugs,

    1. The puppies will be having a field day with the rest of the menagerie haha and they all got good loving forever homes to go to.
I can resist the little dachshunds pups bit don’t think I could if they were papillons.
A big kiss for Milly xxx

  2. You made my day with those tulips! I can't have the real thing, so I might as well enjoy the virtual tulips.
Those Dachshund puppies are gorgeous (as are all puppies). Are they keeping at least one? Or are they all going to be re-homed?
The book sounds fun, although I have never heard of Sara Cox.
    Have a lovely weekend,
    Keep smiling,
    Hugs,

I'm afraid I use bleach for my masks. I use Ace which is a bleach for fabrics. I'm not sure they sell it here but I have bought it in Italy as well as in Spain.

    1. They’re not keeping any pups. It’s a mad house with the three dogs they already have including the pups mum Nellie 🤣

  4. Hello back to you Lynn, just a little "return visit". Those puppies are just too gorgeous, even though I admit my preference is always for the oldies 🐾.

  6. Awww, aren't you tempted with those tiny pups?
Those tulips and your lovely jumper are a joy to behold. I'm amazed about all the masks you've washed, I've only needed to wear one twice this year, I never go anywhere! Excellent washing tips though, love the crafty use of the spud masher! xxx

    2. No definitely not tempted by cute gorgeous puppies. Not on this new expensive carpet haha. I might not say that if someone dropped by with a papillon one though.
I wear a mask to go to Mum’s and I don’t wear them more than once. I think it was on telly I saw about washing them. Mind you a doctor on tv this morning said we didn’t need to wash our shopping but I’m not having that. We will carry on until we feel it’s safe to stop.
Philip hasn’t had any side effects with the vaccine so that’s great. I’m like hawk eye watching him for any signs of illness after the sepsis & pneumonia episode xxx

  7. I used to love reading in bed, but it is not so easy these days so I usually go for a comfy chair out on a sunny porch in the afternoons. I get lost in books and don't notice the time passing.
Those dachshund pups are gorgeous. I'd love to cuddle them!
I seem to do a fair bit of mask washing too, but at least i can then hang them out to blow in the fresh air. Roll on the time they are no longer needed. Kate x

  8. Oh Lynn, not sure I could give those three little beauties up they are gorgeous. Loving your mum's poster too and the book look interesting. I like reading in bed too but usually read a couple of pages and then drop off to sleep and wake up with the light on at about 2.00am in the morning. Pretty flowers too. Good to see you washing the masks, I do wonder if everyone realises they need washing regularly. Good news for us today as we had the call for a vaccine next Wednesday. We didn't expect it so soon but think we're getting it early because we're registered carers for my mum. You have a lovely weekend, Angela xXx

    1. I’ve always read in bed and can’t fall asleep without a book in my hand.
Good luck with the vaccine next week. Philip has been fine.
      Enjoy your weekend too Angela

  9. Those little dachshund puppies are absolutely adorable. I daren't show them to my youngest as she has been desperate for one for the last couple of years! Unfortunately, we have a 19 year old cat who I don't think would cope with a puppy in the house plus the price of puppies seems to have rocketed since Covid. Love the tulips too.

    1. Hi, no I can’t crotchet to save my life. My brain isn’t wired for it sadly. I bought from a lovely girl on Instagram who makes gorgeous bright dresses and jumpers.
Hope your weekend is going well.

  12. I love the sound of that book, perhaps I need to check it out! Isn't your Mum clever, though. Gorgeous jumper and cheerful bunch of tulips. I might steal that potato masher tip from you next time I'm washing a load of masks :-) xxx

  13. The pups are very sweet. The dachshund I used to take care of occasionally had an accident and left us last summer. In December, a new dachshund puppy arrived, and she looks just like these ones. xxxx

  14. Hello sweetie, so sorry you couldn't link on my rocking post last week, I've no idea why Mr Linky was misbehaving, hopefully it will be sorted this week. Hope you've had a lovely week.
