I found this Tapestry in a charity shop
I've added some simple stitching and backed it with blue gingham
At one point I thought it would look nice as a pinny
But my intention all along was to make a tote bag. Listen to me I sound like I know what I'm doing haha. Believe me I don't. As usual it's a Heath Robinson job, making it up as I go along.
It needs the bottom finishing off and some handles and there you go another one I made earlier today.

Wow you certainly work quickly with a needle. That would have taken me a month, let alone a week. What a great tote bag it will make once finished. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #13
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ... it would have taken me at least 2 years to complete... the tote bag will be beautiful... looking forward to seeing it complete... May #10
ReplyDeleteMorning Lynn. I'm sure it will be just fine! A great tapestry, the sort which would make a good fire screen - but there, I don't want to confuse you with yet another idea!!
ReplyDeleteTake care. Enjoy making the bag. God bless.

Hi Lynne, it looks like it's coming along nicely. Great job you've done. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #3 XxX
ReplyDeleteMuch better asa a bag than a pinny. Pinny's get dirty and I am thinking of the material it is made of (hessian type?) and the embroidery with some cake mix on - no, not good! Looks good even with the bottom needing doing.
ReplyDeleteJust noticed my spellchecker is marking "pinny" up - such a lovely old word and obviously not in its dictionary. Maybe it is northern too?
Hugs, Neet 5 xx
That's so pretty Lynn and so much better as a bag than a pinny as it wouldn't wash well.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun find your old tapestry is. There's life still in all such pretty things, isn't there? I agree with Annie- better a bag than a pinny.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW!
