What's on my workdesk today ....

Well there's this lovely craft package and cards that I received from fellow ICAD maker Angela Hicks who lives in Canada.
We swapped 3 cards each and some bits and pieces. Angela painted up background papers and stickers for me.
It's wonderful how we all inspire one another.
This is my prep work for Saturdays workshop "patterns on porcelain"
One of my stitched cards for "index card  a day" challenge that finishes this week.

Time for a look round some more desks now. www.stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk

Art and Fate ...

This week I've been to the local annual art exhibition. It's held in Syke Chapel in beautiful surroundings.
I bought a little watercolour and was pleased to meet the artist Mavis Dean.
It's titled Cornish Wall.  I was stunned when she told me painted while on holiday in Carbis Bay.  I explained that I had been to Cornwall for the first time two years ago with my husband, sister and Mum.  It turned out to be the same place we had stayed at.
Coincidence or fate ???  Fate I think, there are so many things happen to me like that in this big but sometimes small world we live in.

Nearly at the end ....

Some of the iCards I've made this week.
The Index Card a Day Challenge is nearly over now, I wonder what I will do next.
I bet it won't be the housework !!!

Coasters, Cups and Bobbins

While things are quiet on the Fair Trade stall I volunteer on I thought I would start my lesson plan for the PATTERNS ON PORCELAIN beginners craft workshop I'm running on the 2nd August.
Crafters will be designing their own ceramic coasters and a cup as well as having lots of laughs, cups of tea and plenty of homemade cake.
I'm planning a workshop to make these lovely flower bobbins.  When you unroll it you can write a message inside it.

What's on my workdesk today ...............

Ages ago a friend bought me an A4 Moleskine book and I have been waiting for the right opportunity to use it.
While I've been doing the ICAD (Index Card A Day) challenge, I find I am scribbling my initial ideas on bits of paper.
So I thought why not use the book to scribble and stick things in.
This is what's in it so far.
Time for a look round some more desks now
here in Julia's gang

Oh no another obsession ...

The stitched paper bag I did yesterday has gone one step further now.  I've stitched two more and a bookmark.

JUST BECAUSE I CAN ....

Machine stitching on a paper bag that was headed for the bin.
The red paper is a paper photocopy of some fabric I have in my stash.
I got carried away further and stitched a piece of old envelope onto a postcard and added it to a package Ive sent to a fellow creative in Canada as part of a swap.

Why stitch on a tatty old white paper bag ?
Well - Just because I can.
