Behind the garden gate this week we have
Doggy Day Care.
It’s been quite funny seeing not just the children running up for a look but the dogs as well, trying to weigh up if they are real and wanting a dog treat.
Some of you might remember I lost my lovely Auntie Gladys recently - here I am donning her spotty frock with my charity shop find cardigan and dip dyed skirt. I think she might have raised an eyebrow then come out with some quip or other haha.
Now what to wear today.
Do you remember playing with these as a child.
I know I haven’t shown you anything on my desk yet but I get easily distracted you see.
So this “flat lay” is on my desk. I like to mess about laying things out and making little collages, usually starting with one thing that I then link with other things.
The backdrop is a piece of wallpaper, the twig is what set me off, I picked it up on a daily walk. The dolly I cut out of a magazine and the vintage buttons I’ve had for sometime.
It’s a peaceful, meditative thing to do.
Hope you’re all staying home and safe.
Thanks for stopping by and see you next week.

I think you're doing such a great thing to lift spirits by your garden gate displays - how lovely, I bet the kids can't wait to see what you'll come up with next! And Gladys would have loved the fact that her spotty dress is carrying on :-)

Oh I just love all the behind the gate fun - the children in your street will remember that for ever. (Much better than them thinking about the negative things that are going on too). Take care and stay safe. xx Jo
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn. I love the behind the garden gate! I'm not a dog or cat person, but love what you have done. Do many people walk past where you live? It must be a real temptation for folks to come that way and see just what you have been up to. Great spotty dress - and oh yes, I remember those dolls and the paper clothes. I think I even had a small suitcase to keep them all in.
ReplyDeleteTake care. Stay safe. God bless.

When you have your skills in creating such wonderful vignettes, I would imagine it is very therapeutic. I think it would get made in a tangle! I bet that when lockdown is lifted, you will half a thousand new friends, made at your gate!
