What's on my workdesk today ....

  

Firstly thank you everyone for the kind messages after last week's burglary.
Now moving swiftly on and not dwelling on it.

Well that's the last of my craft workshops over for this year 

and after a massive clear up over the next few weeks

so that it looks more like this 

(you currently can't see the floor or radiator for piled up stuff)

 it will be time to get my thinking cap on for the 2016 ones.

I have had a request to run the Framed Paper Wreath one again, so that's one sorted.

Time for a cuppa and a look round for some inspiration from my fellow desk hoppers over at Julia's Blog now.

Kick us and we get back up

Oh "deer" what can the matter be ?

Well after being broken into last week and the garage door and van being wrecked

I took myself off to the local Christmas Market on Saturday to cheer myself up. It was lashing down with rain but it didn't stop the charity fundraisers, Bacup Coco-nut Dancers, doing their stuff.

Did you get all that. If not have a look at an old video of them

Bagged myself this lot for the grand total of £9.50 in a couple of charity shops. 

That's the Christmas outfit sorted.

And look at this little gem

£4.50 for a 21 piece set in perfect condition

It's going straight to one of my favourite places 

Park Farm Shop & Tearoom near Ramsbottom.

They hire out china crockery to customers and ask only for a donation which they then give to charity.

You may remember I went to a charity 1940's Sing-a-long recently.

So despite the miserable weather it was a good day.

The brain dead welder, as he is affectionately named, says you can't keep us Holland's down for long. Bless him. 

He calls me "The out of work bum artist".

True love, you can't beat it.

Then I had the last of my Christmas Craft Workshops

 

I then discovered that the free Marks & Spencer Christmas catalogue makes a great folded paper tree.

Much better than the Argos catalogue we had used on the workshops. 

M&S has fewer pages and is better quality paper. The tree is not as compact though.

Ted looks like he approves though, don't you think ?

Before you disappear off to look round some more desks, look what our friends and neighbours Mark and Jan have made out of chopped down trees from their garden. This one is for us, he just needs eyes and nose now and Jan has got some bells to hang round Rudolph's neck. Or was that Mark's neck haha. They are such a creative family.

SIXTY rolling on SIXTY ONE

 I have ended my 60th birthday year with one final trip down to London

where we saw Dusty at the delightful Charring Cross Theatre. The show was very moving with some great holograms of Dusty.  You really felt she was in the room with you.

We also caught The Mousetrap at the equally charming Adelphi Theatre.

We thought it was appropriate that we went this year as it has been running for 60 years.  I can't of course tell you the ending as it would spoil it and we were instructed not to tell anyone.  All I say is its well worth seeing.

Mr Dapper Chap picked up this fantastic overcoat, scarf and hat

on our visits to Portobello/Notting Hill and Brick Lane.

Good job we went down with virtually empty suitcases as they were full when we came back.

What I love is that our total spend is less than a lot of people will spend on one frock

Beyond Retro on Cheshire Street off Brick Lane is one of our favourite shops

I picked up this gorgeous glittery frock for £23.  It was handmade in Toronto, Canada. I wonder how it ended up here

Well thats the birthday celebrations over, or is it ???

I'm sure I can fit a few more treats in before I am 61.
