When we lived in Manchester we enjoyed driving out to Todmorden and Hebden Bridge. My heart goes out to everyone affected. Luckily, we live far enough from the river that passes through our town to be out of danger. The weather up your way sounds truly foul, to be honest, here on the Wiltshire border we’ve had cold high winds and a lot of rain but I do feel we get away with it most times. We live on chalk and some/many aquifers in this area, so flooding is largely prevented, although our little patches of garden are like a bog, but its nothing, is it.
