Don’t quote me but ......

Spotted this at a yard sale on Monday.
Had no idea what they were for at first but knew they would be coming home with me at £3 for the lot.

I fathomed out they are posh name card holders for when you have dinner parties.
As we don’t have much of that going on here I’m going to make them into little quote holders.

I hope everyone has had a lovely Easter break.
I know we have with sunshine, friends and a whole lot of lolling around

Sunshine and friends

I’m writing this blog post to remind myself how much the sun shone on Easter Sunday and what a lovely day we had with our  friends.

We visited Holker Hall garden fete in the Lake District

The wandering welder was left holding the bags while we scuttled of in search of ice cream

There was food and drink a plenty and lots of lovely plants and goodies to look at.

Not an Easter egg in sight

The charity shops on our way to the caravan are always  an essential part of the journey as we enter  the Lake District at Milnthorpe.

This trip the charity shop fairy was really waving her wand over my finds.  Two Laura Ashley dresses, this super pair of shoes,

A London designed coat plus a little jacket I forgot to photograph and the Italian cardi on the first pic.

And all for a bargain £32

I’ve still got enough pocket money for an ice cream in Grange over sands

I love this litttle town and never tire of visiting it.

It was always known as a place for the old folk.
Well I guess at 64 & 70 we can get a permanent pass now haha.

I’ll just have one for the road and wish everyone a happy Easter, eggs or no eggs

I forked out a tenner

I’ve had to wait since Saturday to show you what I’ve made this week.  I nearly bust a gut keeping it secret, but I wanted to share it with my deskhopping friends.

So apart from nearly poking my eye out and sustaining a couple of scratches along the way, what do you think of my cutlery wind chime.

I’m a bit chuffed with it and intend making some more.
I went on a two hour workshop at Touchstones art gallery in Rochdale, Lancashire (UK).  The best £10 I’ve spent in ages.  It included all the materials and an instruction print out

Tsundoku - what the heck’s that

I came across the word
TSUNDOKU
this week

and burst out laughing

That’s me all over

There are worse things in life.
Like I said to the wandering welder
Aka my husband Philip

“When you go to the pub and spend your money on a few pints, where does it end up ?”
Down the toilet, I informed him.

Now then look where my money goes.

“I lost that one argument then” he said
