Did you guess ?
I was at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester and we were doing one of the organised tours of the building.
And here is one of the box of springs that it is built on. We had a fantastic guide and the history of the hall is wonderful. I strongly recommend you book on a tour.
Did you know that the floor in the reception area has real gold flecks in it.
From the top floor (where the cheap but very good seats are) you can see the Hilton Hotel -Beetham Tower, the old railway station now GMEX and I was fortunate to catch the tram going by. You couldnt hear a thing as it rattle passed.
Out of another window you can see the back of the Midland Hotel.
I loved the idea of this piece of wall art representing WATER, WEAVE & MUSIC.
We then moved onto the Whitworth Art Gallery, had a nice lunch and a look round the exhibitions and I bought a card of textile designer Lucienne Day's as it reminded me of my current work on my Alchemy course.
