What went out and what came in....

The last of my orders have gone out
and as the sun goes down
I've switched the lamp on in my bedroom for you to see
the lovely crotcheted hanging that Helen of http://helencrochet1.wordpress.com
sent me and bless her she is still working on my crotchet blanket.  The woman never stops crotcheting.
I will tell you though that learning to crotchet is on my to do list for 2013 and I am hoping that Lucy Bishop the Left Handed Crafter is going to teach me www.lefthandedcrafter.wordpress.com

HOPE YOU ARE ALL NEARLY DONE WITH YOUR PREPARATIONS FOR CHRISTMAS

Whats "not" on my workdesk this week

Nothing on my desk as I am busy revamping my bedroom ready for my new crotchet blanket which will be the same as the cushion. The very talented Helen of  http://helencrochet1.wordpress.com is hard at work finishing it off.
The picture is batik with fabric appliqued and embroidered and is by friend and textile artitst Barbara Jepson -  www.barbarajepson.com

I've moved all my junk shop finds around.
Rearranged artwork.  As you can see we have a lot.
Lamp is made by Heather Lawson of  www.hellishdesigns.co.uk.  who makes the most fantastic cushions and lampshades.  I bought two of these ages ago and have had so many lovely comments on them that I got two more for our spare bedroom.
Do you like my sepia wall ?  The lady top right is my Mum. The couple at the bottom are my hubbies parents.  The picture of the two girls is by Hornel one of the Glasgow Boys and i've had it about 30 years.  I got it at an antique fair.  The other pictures are from my days out at Todmorden secondhand market.

I will show you the finished room when my blanket arrives.
For now I wish you all a happy Christmas and thanks for popping by.

It's a wrap

Well at least I've made a start, Ive wrapped one present.
Friend Helen is busy making more buntings for some of my customers helencrochet1.wordpress.com
I made these cards using the lino cut stamps I made a few week ago with Lucy Bishop

More bracelets I made at www.brendasbdz.co.uk
I saw this Christmas decoration and thought it what a great idea

Snow stopped play with friends Susan and Ruth so onwards and upwards with Christmas preparations.

IT'S A BUSY TIME

On Tuesday morning I went along to BeadZ at Todmorden and made this lovely bracelet.  Brenda now has a new website/shop where you can see all the workshops she holds and buy online.

On Tuesday evening our craft group had their last meeting before Christmas
and we made these fabulous boxes which Anne Redfern had shown me how to make on her last visit
Wednesday I made a template of the boxes to send to my good friend Mo up in Scotland.
Hope she can get to grips with it.

No more time to blog there are Christmas cards to make and presents to wrap.

WHAT'S ON MY WORKDESK THIS WEEK

Do you remember when I wrapped papers, fruits, lace, calico, crochet, tissue, leaves and string in a bundle some weeks ago ?  I put them outside in the garden (tucked in my old typewriter) and left them open to the elements to see what would happen to it all.

Well yesterday I brought it back in and opened it up and here are the results.

It was a bit of a gungy mess but after seperating it all and rinsing off the rotten fruit I was left with some interesting pieces.

The paper maps disintegrated to much for me to use them, the fabrics picked up the colours of the leaves and fruits and the red tissue.
Even the string has coloured from the fruit juices.
My plan once it has all dried out is to make something with it... Like this hanging that Vintage Bunty made with hers last year.VINTAGE BUNTY BLOG
Stayed tuned for more news in the coming weeks of what I do with mine.
In the meantime pop over to some other desks to see what people are creating.
