St. Ives ........ What an experience.

St. Ives full of texture, shapes, lines and colour.
I don't even know where to start with my photographs so I have made a series of mosaics to show you what I saw.
From the landscape of the Eden Project, to life on St. Ives harbour and dramatic pieces of art hung in the many galleries.
Spotted some Doodly Birds in the Tropical pod in the Eden Project.
A window in the Tate, Day of the Dead sculpture dedicated to Mexican Artist Frida Kahlo in Falmouth, the work of Sue Dove textile artist based in St. Ives and hand stitched church kneelers in a church in Marazion.
And the reason we went there in the first place.....
To celebrate the fact that my Mum will be 80 this year.
Hubby Philip, Mum in the middle and my lovely sister Jill.

More to follow including my day with Textile artist Carolyn Saxby and other artists I met and galleries we visited. Stay tuned...
Nice to be home.

What's on my workdesk today

Well there is nothing on my workdesk today as I am on holiday, so  I thought you might like to see some of the tags I have made over the past few months for the TAG TUESDAY CHALLENGE hosted by Carolyn Saxby of Cornwall who I will be meeting up with this week.

More workdesks at WOYWW

See you soon

My clever crafty friends

Tuesday night saw the return of our Craft Group after the summer break and look what they brought with them.  Are'nt they all very clever
Anne's bag and embroidered piece.   Jan's bag.
Anne with the embroidery she did in India

Barbara's pin cushion from Mollie Makes Magazine, Meg's fossil embroidery, Audrey's bag, Melvyn's embroidery

Melvyn's Zentangled card for Barbara.  He did this after the session at Sunnybank on Monday
Joan's Christmas felt wreath, My Mum brought this wool to make a scarf, Marie's bag and Meg's current piece that she is working on.
My herringbone bead bracelets
Our little friendly group have been meeting once a fortnight on a Tuesday night for some 15 years. We have some great days out, enjoy holding Saturday workshops and attending workshops, visiting galleries and craft events and some nice meals out too.  We have a monthly raffle when a member will make something with the money going into a pot to pay for guest speakers or a coach if we want to go somewhere. Magazines, books, fabrics, haberdashery are often brought in as give aways or to swap. Each member brings a different talent to the group, even if its only the capability to make us laugh.
Our lovely group leader Barbara Jepson www.barbarajepson.com, who is also a member of the TEN PLUS TEXTILE GROUP www.tenplustextiles.com,  keeps us all inspired and all our members share their individual skills with the  others.

Long may we meet.
