What's on my workdesk ......

I have been knitting again
They are a bit addictive these triangle shawls.

This is the one I was working on last week

It turned out really well and then on Saturday
I couldn't resist the multi coloured Italian yarn
I spotted on the wool stall in my local market hall
in Todmorden, Yorkshire.

So I whipped up another one.

Finished reading this great book as well and by coincidence as I was sat
at my desk yesterday the author, Ruth Hogan,  was interviewed about her book which
is her first and is fast becoming a top seller.

Now for another read over at Julia's place

  1. I really love your shawls Lynn....I have to say I prefer the colours in the second one (I'm just not a lover of green from having to wear it every day for school for 7 years!)
    Have a good week.

  2. Need to look at what that book is about. Interesting title.
Love your knitting and that green shawl is adorable. How did it knit up like that - is it the pattern or the wool, it kind of has gaps in it.

  5. Oh, I hadn't heard of that book, will search it out and have a read too..I'm always up for a good recommendation. Am loving the new shawl in the variegated wool, great colours - I do love the way the colours come out in random stripes, so much easier than fairisle!! I've enjoyed reading your clothes/vintage posts too this week, you have a good eye :-D

  7. Your shawls are lovely Lynn, and the wee bird that's sitting on the ball of rainbow yarn is the cutest. Read another good review of your book this week so it's now on my wish list. Have a good week. Elizabeth x #35

  8. Hi Lynn,

Love the shawls!! Can you email me the pattern? I haven't knitted since I moved in November. I have some yarn and needles sitting right next to my chair and haven't really found any patterns that I'd like to do. Maybe your shawl will get things started again.

Oh, I sometimes choose books by their cover - and I would have chosen "The Keeper of Lost Things." I enjoy reading new authors, especially their first books. I've found some of my favorites that way.

Again, if you can share the shawl pattern I would love it.

    Happy WOYWW

  11. Beautiful, beautiful shawls! They look so complicated. The most I've done so far (still learning) are scarves.

  14. Love your shawls are they your own pattern or is it a commercial one. Something like that would be really suitable for Spanish evenings. Will look up the book on Amazon.
