This afternoon I went for a proper afternoon tea with a friend. The place was full, amazing for a Tuesday in a little place called Haslingden, Lancashire.
I've never explored around there before and was surprised by the cobbled streets and lovely shops. I spotted a few charity ones which I'm going to go back to another day.
Do you think the two ladies were admiring my frock
or saying to themselves "I've got a pair of curtains like that"
They wouldn't be wrong as I got these of Ebay for a song and our fantastically talented stitching friend made me the frock, a sleeveless top
and a skirt
with plenty left for a bit of crafting,
which I will be doing tomorrow
I have another pair of curtains that came from the charity shop for £5,
so watch out for my next curtain frock.
You are lucky to have such a talented friend. You would never know they used to be curtains. I am going to an afternoon tea in a couple of weeks for the first part of my daughters hen do.
ReplyDeleteI hope its as nice as ours was. Enjoy yourself xx

It looks absolutely brilliant, much better as clothes than curtains when only your visitors see them!
ReplyDeleteGlad you linked to Visible Monday - you always are very visible and extremely stylish! xxx
Crikey, I used to live in Rawtenstall so know Haslingden well. I was not aware of it being the kind of place for a visit - might just have to remedy that. Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet xx
I love your "curtain couture", Lynn. And I see you were having an orange moment too. xxx
ReplyDeleteThey were definitely admiring. Your dress, troysers and skirt all look amazing. The colour is gorgeous on you, really suits you. Xxx
