What's on my workdesk today .....

Am I the only one who can't stick to one job at a time ?
Am I the only one constantly sidetracked ? Tell me I'm not, please.
You see the roll of curtain header tape I picked up in the charity shop for £1.50.
Well that distracted me from the lavender squares I was making for my Mum and from doing more in making a book from a book.
Instead I ended up printing and stitching onto it.
Then the fabulous piece of anaglypta white brick effect wallpaper I've been coveting and using as a backdrop for photographs suddenly jumped out at me as a possible backing for the stitched header tape
and I had the brainwave of making a wall of stitch
Typical me, couldn't leave it there.
No, my brain went into overdrive then thinking
oh i could do a wall of
Words
Flowers
Colours
Fabrics
Buttons
Haberdashery

Please do not encourage me by suggesting any more "WALLS OF ......." or I will never clear this
Hope you have all had a nice Easter and are back at your desks

  2. Yep - also get side-tracked easily and your side-tracking has gone in a lovely direction with the curtain tape. My daughter also has this trouble and someone at work said she had ADHD - what tosh - in our day it was celebrated as a busy and creative butterfly mind. Have a good week x Jackie 16

  4. Someone once described me as an 'elusive butterfly' and I think that refers to my mind as it flits from one thing to another so 'no" you are not alone - maybe you are a butterfly too but at least you seem to get lots of interesting things done. Love your Wall!

  5. Lynn, there's no need to fret.. I can't keep my mind on one job either ;-) ... beautiful minds need creativity! My heart just skipped a beat. Your stitching is so precious! I'm in love!!!

  6. 😃💖 Oh, you are so not on your own! I can leapfrog from one project (that I really SHOULD finish) to something non urgent, purely on a whim. Sigh.
I adore your wall of stitch, fab idea to show off your brilliant work. But your list made me laugh....that's why I never make them, all those to do items would drive me mad!!

  9. Oh my goodness, even your To Do lists are beautifully presented. No, you're not alone, but your results are more interesting. Q calls my style 'flight of the bumble bee' as I switch from one thing to another, completing nothing. Your wall of stitch is beautiful. Xxx

  10. Morning Lynn. Certainly not. I should think those who only do one thing at once must have incredibly tidy houses - erm... and minds... I start a thing, work on it, move on to a second thing, usually having a jigsaw on the go at the same time. A friend in the WI years ago told me she had a cupboard of UFSs. ??? Unfinished symphonies. Her argument was, that if Schubert could do it (and he was famous) then so could she!!! My cupboard is full too...
Gorgeous work - never thought of using anaglypta wallpaper like that.
    Take care. God bless.

  11. I think it's called a butterfly mind Lynn....and I'm one of those too. I always have many things on the go at the same time and flit from one to another as the mood takes. I love what you've done with the curtain tape....thats got me thinking now so I may flit and fly and see what I can use mine for [other than those b****** curtains lol].
    Have a great week.

  12. No, you're not the only person who doesn't stick to one project. I think that is how creative minds works, one thing leads to the next :-) have fun with your walls (maybe a wall of pictures :-)) Happy WOYWW Vicky #8

  13. Morning Lynn, What a fabulous imagination to do that stitching, and 'No, I reckon any good crafter has a mind that sees something, that sparks something' and suddenly she just has to follow that idea and make something wonderful. I would never have thought of using the header tape for embroidery.
Thanks for popping by my site.

  14. There is a difference between us then...I'm definitely a one job at a time gal! Not as creative as you though, so I can see why you would be distracted so easily. I mean..the idea of sewing on curtain tape?Where did that come from? Apart from attaching it to curtains, no other use has ever occurred to me!!

  15. I think the multi projects is a fact of life for most of us! I have flat surfaces in my space and at any given time they are mostly covered with different projects. So it is for me! Glenda #30

  16. When you get a wonderful idea you just have to run with it.

  17. Beautiful! Nope, you're not the only one who gets sidetracked. I am the queen of getting sidetracked. I have to keep notes to keep me on track or I forget what I'm supposed to be doing.

  18. I'm sure you're not alone, Lynn. We all do this to some extent. At least you make something with your ideas. I'm only interested in them, until I've tried them once. I might feel passionate about a project today, but then I see something online to trigger an idea and I can't rest until I've tried it, dropping what I'd been working on. The worst is when I have to buy supplies for it. I buy the supplies, I try them once and I never touch them again. Have fun experimenting with your wall of XXX! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #26

  24. Just fabulous - you've had a real 'light bulb moment' with the wall series - I can't wait to see how you develop it - the stitching on curtain tape is wonderful - I love it!

  25. You're not! I get sidetracked all the time, usually when I've got a vintage fair to prepare for or a heap of ironing to tackle!! Love what you've done and those words! xxx

  26. I too get sidetracked all the time, having so many things on the go and in my mind. It gets to the point that I get absolutely nothing on my list done. I should be more focused, I know. xxx

  29. Hi Lynn - thank you for visiting me. I am impressed with that to-do grid, never thought about keeping a list that way, but it sure does use up all the space on a page more efficiently and the done check mark cover the whole item! I like that. :-) I had a giggle at the whole linear v. multi-tasking mind thing. I've been both ways in my life. Used to be able to multi-task the entire world. Now, I get overwhelmed so easily. I just have to walk away when that happens. It's definitely a hassle, but what are you gonna do? So I do feel for ya. We may be in the same boat, haha. Sure hope the captain can multi-task! Have a good week and cya next time. xoxo, Aimeslee #67
