LEAVING HOME

Today we closed the blinds
Turned the key in the door for the last time on the family home of 40 years
and moved onto pastures new.
It felt very sad leaving our old home behind.
But Mum will be happy in her new home as the bus stop is right next to her little cottage so no more long haul off the bus with the shopping.
Hope you enjoy your new home Mum, it is lovely.

PS.  Here's a little tale....You see the black & white photo of the buses, well those were the days when the mills were busy and local people worked there.
Mum's new address is across the road from this picture and she worked in the mill that everyone is piling out of here. This is the bus we used to get into town.  The pub is still a busy local.

  3. It must have been difficult, but a cottage with the bus stop right outside sounds good too. I wish your Mum much happiness in her new home. The black and white photo... it's before my time but it got me thinking how different the England I spent a year in was different from today. Made me nostalgic :-)
