WHAT'S ON MY WORKDESK THIS WEEK

Do you remember when I wrapped papers, fruits, lace, calico, crochet, tissue, leaves and string in a bundle some weeks ago ?  I put them outside in the garden (tucked in my old typewriter) and left them open to the elements to see what would happen to it all.

Well yesterday I brought it back in and opened it up and here are the results.

It was a bit of a gungy mess but after seperating it all and rinsing off the rotten fruit I was left with some interesting pieces.

The paper maps disintegrated to much for me to use them, the fabrics picked up the colours of the leaves and fruits and the red tissue.
Even the string has coloured from the fruit juices.
My plan once it has all dried out is to make something with it... Like this hanging that Vintage Bunty made with hers last year.VINTAGE BUNTY BLOG
Stayed tuned for more news in the coming weeks of what I do with mine.
In the meantime pop over to some other desks to see what people are creating.

  5. How interesting. At first I thought it was a body tied up with a bit of blood leaking. Visions of CSI and all that. But Lynn, how could you, how could you have that adorable old typewriter outside? I love it and I learned to type on one like that years ago. Please bring it in and give it a loving home, am sure you can find somewhere to keep it.
In the meantime, good luck with the vintage stuff.

  9. Oh wow what an interesting technique to use... very organic. I imagine no two bundles would ever turn out the same. I will definitely have a look at your sketchbook friends site.

  10. What a wonderful result from your bundle Lynn. Shame about the map paper disintegrating. The pomegranate red is gorgeous. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with what you have left. I finally got around to putting mine out last night having completely forgot to take any pictures whatsoever! :( Never mind, at least I now have something I've not done before, to look forward to the results from :)

  12. Hi Lynn, it doesn't seem two minutes since you put your bundle outside but what amazing results you have achieved, the colours are lovely. Look forward to seeing what you create.

Evie is doing well, bit of a scare at the start because she was not putting on weight but all sorted now. She is a little cutie and we will be seeing her at Christmas - can't wait! Hugs, Anne x #49

  21. I've done something like that before but it was paper, news print, magazine paper and a nail. It came out pretty good because the magazines bled into the paper, and the nail left rust on it too. Yours looks amazing!! I know you will make something awesome with it!!!

  23. Oooh Lynn, an erosion bundle! I've never been brave enough to try one because I'm terrified of all the creepy crawlies that it might attract! Did you find a lot in yours? The colours that have come out are gorgeous. I'm assuming from what you say that you didn't actually bury it, but just left it outside. One day I might try one...

Thanks for your nice comment - I've just uploaded another post about my album - page 1 more or less complete (apart from all the other bits I keep deciding I've got to add lol!!) My famous unfinishable album...
