Vintage Fair and a bath

Sunday we went to the Victoria Baths at Manchester and what a feast for the eyes this place is architecturally.

The National Lottery money has turned this out of date building into a wonderful piece of history which is used today for holding events like the Vintage Fair we attended.
But before we went into the fair we had a good look round
Look at the old changing rooms
The turnstile at the entrance
Not much of this goes on in my house

Fantastic tiles and wrought ironwork
An old picture of champion swimmers
More pictures to follow tomorrow including what I got at the Vintage Fair.
If you are in the Manchester area I strongly recommend a visit.
Join one of the tours to find out the history.

  1. Fantastic photos. It's a pity that the National Lottery didn't feel able to help the Embroiderer's Guild when they wanted to restore an old church in Manchester for a new HQ!

  6. Lynn, this is lovely.... I absolutely love the Victoria Baths, I believe they also received an award from the programme 'Restoration' which was on a few years ago, I have to admit, I was guilty of acutally phoning up to vote for the baths and it won! So lovely to see these pics! Jayneeexxx
