People I met in St. Ives .....

It was a wonderful surprise to receive these beautifully coloured tyvek beads, bead snowflake and handmade card
Early on in the week I met up with one of my favourite bloggers CAROLYN SAXBY, who influences and inspires many of us with her wonderful photography, tyvek beads, stitched work and the TAG TUESDAY CHALLENGE. www.tagtuesday.blogspot.co.uk

Carolyn treated me to tea and cakes in a lovely tearoom overlooking the harbour.  It was so nice I took the family back later in the week for lunch.  Another blog friend Julie Mackinder from Lincolnshire joined us and we had a great time discussing each others work.
Here's a link for Julie's stitched creations  www.mixedmedia-jem.blogspot.co.uk

Later Carolyn showed me around some of her favourite St. Ives galleries.  It was like being with an old friend we got on so well.  Thanks for a lovely day Carolyn

Do you remember the cushion I got earlier in the year ?  Well  it came from St. Ives mixed media artist MAXINE PHAROAH who has a studio at the Sloop Craft Workshops.  It was so nice to meet her and to gaze at all her lovely work.  Maxine was busy working on one of her many commissioned pieces when I arrived.
See the little bird on the shelf, well I couldnt resist it and had to bring it home.  We did do a bit of a swap, Ive got a Sara Midda book that Maxine has been after so Ive sent it down to her now.
To see more of Maxine's work here is a link to her website www.maxinepharoah.com

My St. Ives visit looks like its going to be running all week with all the people I met and things I saw so stay tuned readers for more Cornwall adventures.

  1. What colourful, skill filled, crafty goodness pictures Lynn. All so cheery and desirable. You never fail to amaze me at your ability to be in the right places at the right times to be able to fall into place with people of similar minds. It gives us such lovely stories to read when you're back :0) xx
