Tea Cups, Tea Tray Clothes and Owls

We went to the CREATIVE CRAFT EVENT at the Trafford Centre this week, it was fantastic and definitely in the diary for next year.

This lovely cup and saucer is made by Cumbrian textile artist Helen Mckenna
Its made with pelmet vilene, old tray clothes, crocheted mats & bias binding
This is the back of the 4"x4" notebook which you can see is covered with an old tray cloth and embellished with ribbons and buttons
What a lovely talented lady Helen is, I really enjoyed chatting to her

Now you might spot these little embroidered motifs being used on my tags on the TAG TUESDAY CHALLENGE over the next few months WWW.TAGTUESDAY.BLOGSPOT.CO.UK

They came from WWW.PATSYMAY.CO.UK who had a fantastic display of them at the craft event.
I want to congratulate them on the birth of their new grandson.  The news came in while I was talking to them and Grandma was itching to get back to Doncaster to be with the new baby and her daughter.

We also watched a fashion parade by ISME clothes and saw Linda Bellingham the actress who looked fantastic and models for them.  The only downside there was that apart from Linda the models were all stick thin and young.  Such a shame as there target audience were all women of a certain age and probably average size 16.  Nice clothes though and reasonably priced. www.isme.com

  1. Ooh Lynn, what gorgeous things from Helen McKenna! I can see straight away what attracted you.
And those embroidered motifs are so lovely (I-spy a red dd, hehe)and how nice that you were there when that couple heard about the birth of their grandson!
Being a first hand witness, you could perhaps e-mail ISME on behalf of all us more mature women in regards to the models they used ;)

    1. You know me Mo, I was straight onto ISME. They just said they were sorry to hear we were disappointed with the show. Maybe they will have a rethink on the models. Who knows !

  2. Hi Lynn, you certainly got some beautiful little treasures at the event. Linda B does some advertising for ISME too and she always looks great in their clothes. How lovely to be on hand to hear news of the birth too! Sounds like you had a lovely time. Crafty hugs, Anne x
