It's Vintage all the way for me

It was sad that I didnt get to the Hodder Valley Country Show with the Doodly Birds.
But it was fantastic that I got to go to Vintage Village at Stockport
I bumped into blog friend Emma of OOOH BETTY
and came away with this lovely table runner that Emma gave me as a gift.
The glass plate I got for a £1 of the people on the stall opposite and it is for my friend Gemma who collects this type of glassware.

Hubby Philip had a great time he came away with a Daks Jacket for £27, some Daks trousers £20 and an Italian knitted tie for £6.
Look at my St. Michael's twinset for £10, unworn still with the label attached.
You knew it was authentic as it was made in England.
I can hear you wondering about the button necklace.  Yes that was a purchase too.
I met the most wonderful young lady, MOYA and her mum who told me how she had lost her dad to leukemia and had suffered with cancer herself.
Her stall was a riot of colour and filled with beautiful headbands, jewellery, cards, bags and bows which she makes and gives her proceeds to a cancer charity.  So the necklace photographed with my twinset is from Moya and it came in this lovely hand decorated bag.  If you want to get in touch with Moya about her work you can email her at buttonfairies@gmail.com

She has a lovely saying on the back of her cards
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take  our breath away".

I bought the cards for my sister in law for her birthday this week as she writes to people a lot and loves handmade ones.  I will give them to her in the pretty bag.

Stockport Vintage Village is a buzzing lively spot.  People get dressed up in lovely 50's, 60's 70's styles and there was a lively three piece band playing.  Here's a link for their events.

This coming Sunday 16th September the monthly Vintage & Craft Market is on at Altrincham
Thats another lively event, great people and stalls.

Also this Sunday is Lets Get Crafty at Whalley Village Hall
another great event (gorgeous cakes and a cuppa as well)
