Straw, cats, monkeys and a pocket watch

Bet you can't guess what this is ?
Well the Doodly Birds were sat on top of it yesterday
It's my new oilcloth table cover.   It looks like everything is sat on top of a bale of hay.
We did'nt make pots of money at the Pendle Heritage Centre Craft/Farmers Market yesterday, I think the mens Wimbledon final kept people in.
But I did meet some nice people, like 18 year old Charlie who established his business in 2006 at the ripe old age of 12.  To quote Charlie himself " I started my business by sewing two pieces of circular felt together, drawing a smiley face on with a marker & sewing a safety pin onto the back then selling 200 of them for a £1 each",  and the rest as they say is history.
Charlie is also putting this Craft Event together for next Saturday. He is a real entrepeneur.  I will be going and taking my Mum.
As is the norm I spent my profits.  This time (excuse the pun) on this great pocket watch on a pendant £16, made by Victoria of Daisy Louise Jewellery. Have a look at her website her designs are quite unique.  She will also make you a piece of  jewellery out of some of your own old pieces or favourite buttons etc.

My little sock monkey now has a playmate from the lovely Donna of Heartfelt Creations.  Donna had some gorgeous handmade bags as well, but I resisted.
You can see her stall at the monthly Pendle Heritage Centre Market or contact her on
07964 4296859 if you want something to order.

ALL IN ALL WE HAD A GREAT DAY OUT.
OUR NEXT OUTING IS AT PROM ART AT GRANGE 29TH JULY

  5. What a smart young man Charlie is Lynn, a pleasure to meet him I'm sure. I bet the guys from The Dragon's Den would be impressed by his spirit.
That watch is beautiful Lynn. I remember buying myself a necklace watch (wanted one like my gran) from a jewellers in Edinburgh out of my paper-round money when I was about 13, but when we got home it didn't work :( Good parents took us back the next day but they didn't have another. Double sad :( I never got another. (big aww, haha)
Sock monkey and his buddy look really soft. Nice colours :0) xx
