WE'VE PATCHED THINGS UP

Sunnybank Craft Club produced some great paper patchwork books today.
We first had a look at different types of patchwork in books and magazines then Melvyn showed us the patchwork fabric wallhanging of Sorrento he has been working on.
Susan had painstakingly cut out all the hexagon shapes, from a variety of crafting papers, the night before. We used 10 pieces for each book, which we first glued onto a piece of card starting with four shapes down the middle then three down each side.
To get the stitch mark members used black marker pens.
The final stages  were cutting round the outline of the piece, adding doublesided tape to the back then attaching it to the front of the notebook.
Taa-daah don't they look colourful.
While we had a cuppa and a chat everyone tried to see how many words,of three or more letters, they could make out of the word PATCHWORK.
43 was the final count.

  7. What a brilliant idea! I'm a tutor for adults with learning difficulties and this would suit them down to the ground. Very effective and something they can take home and be pleased with achieving. It's very hard getting fairly easy-to-do projects that are age appropriate. Thanks so much for sharing!
