COASTING ALONG AT SUNNYBANK

Sunnybank Craft Club made some lovely coasters today using cut up magazines.
Before we got started Susan read out the "factoids" she had come up with on coasters. This covered beer mats, furniture coasters (do you remember when people used to put them under chair legs to stop the carpet getting marked), roller coasters, what coasters are made from and even games played in pubs with beer mats used as coasters.
Lily's is top row centre and Mrs Shaw's is bottom row with the pink roses
We cut out small images and laid them out in a design then glued them onto a card, which had been cut to size ready for the finished piece.

After cutting out more images we then made a design for the back.
Lily put her name on the back of hers and Mrs Shaw (both in their 90's) wanted to finish hers  at home.
For the first time ever we were all very quiet as we thumbed the magazines looking for inspiration.
I think we can all agree that the results are very colourful and individual.
Well done everyone.

  2. What fun! I've been thinking of using some of my circles for gifts - to be used as coasters! These are a GReat way to incorporated paper scraps!
